Artificial intelligence examples exist all around us in our daily lives unknown to us. We see them, use them but have no freaking clue these softwares use some sort of AI tech here and there.
I think I know why that is, permit me to air my humble opinion (like you have a choice 😎).
I don’t blame us really. I blame Sci-fi movies.
We’ve seen too many Hollywood movies where an AI program is depicted as an Antagonist (or bad guy) in these movies (that typical scenario when an AI tech gets corrupted, becomes self-aware and takes over the world, blah, blah, & blah).
But besides these, I want to show you 5 other common examples of Artificial intelligence that you use everyday but have no clue about:
#1. Gmail’s auto reply template.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed and I don’t know for how long but the last time I checked, whenever you get a mail, at the end of it will appear 3 options you can choose from that will enable you send quick short replies.
And what’s amazing is the accuracy of these reply templates. It’s almost as if they can read your mind and suggest what you planned to type.
#2. Typing predictions
I can’t say as far as Apple iphones are concerned (obviously because I am yet to actually use one), but I know as a matter of fact that if you have an Android, there’s an option for typing predictions.
Among all the other Artificial intelligence examples, this is unique in the sense that it doesn’t just do simple tasks like auto capitalizing your Nouns and first words in a sentence, but just like the Gmail auto reply templates, it does often accurately predict your next word or phrase in tandem with your context.
#3. Video games.
Okay. I want to believe majority of RicheeTech readers are dudes, as a result, you dudes (at least most of you) have played one or more video games in your lifetime, whether on your smart phone, Laptop or Console.
I want to put more emphasis on Soccer games for this example. The AI tech in games like Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA is just ridiculous!
I mean think about it. I’ve played over 1000 matches across PES 2011 – 2013 and I can swear that I have never seen the computer I play against once repeat a single move at the exact same time under the exact same situation. Never!
That my broda, is Artificial Intelligence.
#4. Android’s Music player.
If you’ve read the real history of Facebook (and not what Wikipedia is feeding you, trust me) you’d have heard about Synapse, a music player that studies ones listening patterns and adapts to play you the songs you love the most.
It was made by Mark Zuckerberg himself and is probably one of the earliest conceptualization of Artificial Intelligence.
Why am I digging this up now? It’s because one hardly noticeable example of AI tech is the “Most played” menu in your Android music player.
It displays a list of your most listened to songs according to the most played to the least, much like Synapse did back in the day.

#5. Auto screen brightness.
So you know that screen brightness toggle in your pull down menu on your Android device? If you switch it to auto, it means that the phone will then automatically adjust your screen brightness according to how bright or dark your environment is.
Most people take this for granted but that’s just crazy!
Now over to you!
