Yes, as ridiculous as it sounds, there’s a website called Deseat me that can help you delete yourself from the internet, basically turn you into a freaking ghost and scrub your entire digital footprint from the face of the web!
But why, pray tell would you want to delete yourself from the internet, in the first place?
You be thief? Are you a suicide bomber? Abi you be Yahoo boy ni?
I can perfectly understand why shady internet people would want to partake in such but for a regular guy like me (P.S: I’m not regular in any type of way ), why would I let the thought even cross my mind?
Then I remembered all the trash mails that have been accumulating in my Yahoo mail (Is it just me, or no one takes Yahoo mail seriously again?) from mostly unsolicited senders.
In fact, I pretty much resigned that entire mailbox to “junk mail” in my head and switched to gmail fully (Yahoo, no offense…I know what you’re thinking, but this is not a gmail ad ).
Anyway, personally I guess I’d fancy Deseat me so I can unsubscribe from anywhere on the web I’ve said, “Hey, take my email for nothing in return because I’m an idiot!”
So if you’re in the same boat I am (Captain Richard on deck), here’s how to delete your existence from the internet in the most pictorial voyage possible and in 3 simple steps:
Step 1: See what accounts you’ve signed up for.
Step 2: Easily sort through them.
Step 3: Send Removal Requests instantly.
Why not try it out on their website and tell us how it went in the comments below.
